Introduction

    Welcome, my name is Giniah and this is my first blog post!! :) 

    I have chosen to create a four page magazine that will include, a magazine cover, contents page, and a double-page spread for my AICE Media Studies coursework. I will also be working as part of a team, but I will be submitting an individual project.


Main Task:

  • Developing the front page, contents, and a double page spread of a new magazine. I will create an individual edition of the magazine, using the same house style as the group.
  • All text and images used will be original content with a minimum of four images.
  • I will use preliminary exercises to build to build up my skills.
  
     Skills I hope to attain:
  • Learning Photoshop to successfully edit my photos 
  • How to fully capture my audience
  • Understand how media products communicate meanings
  
  Skills I already have:
  • Connecting with my audience seeing as i am in the targeted age group
  • I have an Adobe Dreamweaver certification that cam help with editing

  •    I will be posting blogs on my research and progress every week. 
  
     In, addition I will be meeting the requirements of a candidate by including preliminary exercises, the finished product, and the creative, critical reflection

 The table of contents is just as important in the magazine as a the cover page. The cover page draws readers in while the contents page keeps them there. The contents page has the task of being diverse and but still on topic at the same time. Final Feature story

 This is my final draft that will be featured in the magazine. “All my life I have been up to my eyeline in boxes. ” These are the words of 17 year old Jada Lewis, the Teenage Nomad. To some that may be dreadful but Lewis seems to think otherwise. Lewis can be described as an army brat. “The term ‘army brat’ is used to refer to military kids,  it doesn’t bother me too bad”, Lewis says. Army brats tend to move multiple times during childhood and some may even travel across continents. “I was born in South Carolina! I was 5 months old when we moved from South Carolina to New Orleans, and I currently live in Atlanta.”   “I’ve lived in South Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, Virginia, Hawaii, & now I’m currently in Atlanta, Georgia! https://photos.app.goo.gl/qBrvx9QBSDm8wd6j8 This is my evaluation to question 3.   How did your production skills develop throughout this project?    How did your production skills develop throughout this project?  In the beginning of this project, I had no idea what conventions were masthead, I had no idea how to create a magazine, the elements needed to create a magazine. For this project I was able to develop my own personal thing, my  own personal branding for this magazine and I really appreciate that.  First with the masthead, I was able to put my masthead on the side and it’s called “Travelscene” so any type of, any story dealing with travel could be the feature story. Just in this case it’s about a kid who is military so she is a teenage nomad. Next, as it comes to color schemes and having images and taking photos I enjoyed the opportunity to do this.
